Tomke Braun is a curator and writer who approaches curating with a dramaturgical sensibility. Her work explores the intersections of art, technology, and cultural narratives, focusing on themes such as digital intimacies, politics of visibility, and speculative ways of engaging with and shaping our environments. Her exhibitions and transdisciplinary formats often draw on poetic and performative elements to open up new perspectives.
She is currently working at the programming office at the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, where she previously curated the exhibition and performance program “The Breath of a House is the Sound of Voices Within” as curatorial fellow. Tomke was the artistic director of Kunstverein Göttingen (2018 – 2021) and has collaborated regularly with the Berlin platform Creamcake, developing formats that bridge art, music, and digital cultures.
In addition, she has been teaching at Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin and was a Guest Lecturer for Exhibition Research (2024-25) with José B. Segebre at Kunsthochschule Kassel. She also works as an editor, collaborating on various publishing projects with artists and institutions.
